Amy Westervelt is an award-winning journalist with eighteen years' experience writing about health, psychology, technology, business, and environmental issues. Her work has recently appeared in Popular Science, Elle, Smithsonian, and Aeon. As a cofounder of Climate Confidential--an award-winning collaboration between six female journalists who syndicated environmental reporting to various national outlets--she helped get longform investigative environmental journalism into a host of national publications, including The Atlantic, Quartz, Smithsonian, Modern Farmer, and many more. In 2014 she was awarded a Rachel Carson Award for environmental journalism.

Dr. Maddie Stone is an environmental scientist and a freelance science journalist. She hosted the Slate podcast “Future Tense Fiction.”Previously, Stone was the science editor at Gizmodo, where she was also the founding editor of Earther, Gizmodo’s climate-focused vertical. She has also edited articles for The Verge, Polygon, and Grist.Stone's work has appeared in National Geographic, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, The Guardian, Grist, Vice, and MIT Technology Review.

Leah C. Stokes is a political scientist, expert on environmental policy, assistant professor of Political Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and author of Short Circuiting Policy.

Lisa Graves is an activist. Currently, she is the director of True North Research and president of the board of the Center for Media and Democracy. She was executive director for CMD from 2009 to 2017, when she left to co-found Documented.net.Previously, Graves served as the Chief Counsel for Nominations on the United States Senate Judiciary Committee and as Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the United States Department of Justice during the Clinton Administration. She has also worked as the Senior Legislative Strategist on national security issues for the American Civil Liberties Union, and as an adjunct law professor at the George Washington University Law School.

Emily Atkin is a reporter who writes about climate change and environmental justice. She is the founder of the newsletter HEATED, which provides reporting and analysis on the climate crisis.Previously, Atkin was the climate staff writer at The New Republic, and the deputy climate editor at ThinkProgress. Her work has appeared in Newsweek, Slate, and Mother Jones.
