Hi there, listener—whatever timezone you’re in, good noon, afternoon, evening, or even morning—this is the Maya-maya podcast! My name is Maia and my pronouns are he/they/she; I am your host! This is a one-person-run show, with friends as occasional guests sometimes. I’m happy you decided to press play—it’s wicked to have you here. This is kind of my personal playground where I mainly rattle away and have discourse on anything I want: most of them focusing on queer/gay topics.
New episodes are uploaded whenever I feel like it, siguro mga maya-maya na (maybe sometime later). 'Maya-maya na' is a common Filipino Tagalog phrase which translates to sometime later in English, and since this is more of a casual chattering podcast than a professionally structured one with a regular schedule, I decided to name it this way. Of course, the name of this podcast is also an intentional wordplay reference to my name: Maia.
*My younger sibling is the one who originally thought of this podcast’s name when I once told her of my plans of constructing my own podcast. The delivery was funny and genius when she first mentioned it, so I went and ran with the idea. If she happens to be listening, I'm giving her credits for the name :-)*
Thanks for checking this out! This is going to be so fun.
Maya-maya na,
Maia 💌 (he/him)
