He has also written a thriller, crime novels, several collections of short stories, a Doctor Who novella, and an anthology of stories about popular music, which he co-edited with Kim Newman.McAuley's first book, the far-future space opera "Four Hundred Billion Stars," was published in 1988. It won the Philip K. Dick Award.

She has also voiced ad campaigns, cartoons, computer games, and audiobooks.In 1997, Bouvard founded the North American Actors Association (NAAA), an independent non-profit organization for North American actors based in the UK, which she ran as Chief Executive for over ten years.Bouvard received her A.B. in Linguistics and Dramatic Art from Harvard University and her M.S. in Computer Science from the University of London. She also trained at London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
